Token swaps are exchange transactions in which tokens are exchanged for new coins – usually of the same blockchain project. Often these are ERC-20 tokens which were used to execute an ICO and are later exchanged into the native coins of the project as soon as the blockchain was programmed.
If a deposit is actually an inflow of coins from a token swap, then classify it as a “swap”. The certified Cryptotax software transfers the original acquisition data, i.e. acquisition date and costs, from the old tokens to the new coins.
